BIOGRAPHIE
Le goût pour la perfection mêlé au calme introspectif de la figure humaine constitue l’essence même de l’œuvre de Mario Dilitz.
Né en 1973, Mario Dilitz vit et travaille à Innsbruck en Autriche. Après s’être formé dès 1998 à la sculpture - notamment au sein de l’Académie d’été de Salzbourg - il se consacre à la création depuis 2004.
Chez cet artiste virtuose dans le travail du bois, le traitement de la figure humaine est central: Mario Dilitz représente des personnages statiques, en taille réelle, souvent juvéniles et dénudés, dans une approche plastique proche de la perfection.
Elaborée en lamellé-collé et réalisée en taille directe, son œuvre, unique, est à la fois sensible et pure, d’une grâce troublante, presque charnelle, et particulièrement poignante. Par ailleurs, des lignes de couleur noire ou rouge se dessinent sur la peau immaculée des corps immobiles de Mario Dilitz. Caractéristique du travail de l’artiste, cette colle teintée, utilisée pour joindre les morceaux de bois assemblés, devient sa marque de fabrique.
Exposé au sein de foires et salons prestigieux (Masterpiece Londres, Tefaf New York, Volta Basel, Art Miami...), son travail est visible à Pa- ris, Londres, New York, Barcelone...
