ECLIPSE III

Dans Eclipse III, Igor Mitoraj explore la tension entre la beauté classique et la fragilité humaine. Inspirée par l'esthétique gréco-romaine, la sculpture présente un visage partiellement voilé, fragmenté, comme rongé par le temps. L’éclipse devient ici métaphore : celle de l’oubli, de l’absence, ou de la lumière qui se retire. Le bronze, noble et patiné, accentue la solennité de cette figure silencieuse, entre apparition et disparition. Fidèle à son langage sculptural, Mitoraj nous confronte à une mémoire fissurée, mais toujours vibrante d’humanité.

In Eclipse III, Igor Mitoraj explores the tension between classical beauty and human fragility. Inspired by Greco-Roman aesthetics, the sculpture presents a partially veiled, fragmented face, as if eroded by time. Here, the eclipse becomes a metaphor: that of oblivion, absence, or receding light. The noble, patinated bronze accentuates the solemnity of this silent figure, caught between appearance and disappearance. True to his sculptural language, Mitoraj confronts us with a fractured memory that nevertheless remains vibrant with humanity.
